PERSEVERANCE
The courage to press on toward your goal under any condition.
Strong to the Finish!
A finish line ribbon is the beginning and the end of a journey. It is just as glad to see you if you’ve set a new land speed record, as it is when you’ve just beaten your personal best. And it doesn’t slack because it’s taking too long, nor does it give up because the horizon is empty. It doesn’t sag into despair based on hazards on the track – be it high hurdles to jump, channels to swim, or mountains to climb. The whole point of a finish line ribbon is to bring inspiration at the beginning so that you press on to the end!
PERSEVERANCE’S MOTTO:
“Press On!”
Eagle: Haliaeetus leucocephalus
Did you know that eagles can see up to 3 kilometers away? That’s nearly 8 times the height of the Empire State Building. No wonder they are an Apex predator! An eagle can fly faster than any bird their size.
Eagles are homebodies and they mate for life. They will often return to the same nest year after year to mate. When an eaglet is young one of them watches over the nest at all times.
When an eagle encounters a storm, it doesn’t turn back from its mission. It actually uses the energy from the storm to bolster its wings and to lift it higher. It soars over the storm to its goal. If you ask me that is a great way to respond to storms that get in our way.
