HONESTY

The courage to be the truth in word, and in thought, and in action.

Encompassing the Truth!

A compass will always do its best to lead you in the right direction.  It will point just as true if you’re lost or if you simply need reassurance. And it doesn’t slightly bend the direction it’s leading because of who is looking at it, nor does it mislead with the look on its face if it doesn’t like the direction the honest direction will lead. It doesn’t change its mind based on the condition of the terrain – be it high wind and waves, mountains that must be scaled, or an enemy’s land that must be faced. A compass’s whole purpose is to be the truth in pointing the right direction.

HONESTY’S MOTTO:

“Be The Truth!”

Bottlenose Dolphin Looking Into Camera

Dolphin: Tursiops truncatus

One of four non-human-species that can recognize itself in a mirror, dolphins can also recognize emotions in other creatures. When another is sad, in peril, or frightened the dolphin has been known to pick up on this and be present or helpful in the situation.

Many of man’s ancient myths and religions include dolphin lore and the exaltation of their species. Perhaps this is because of the dolphin’s good nature and altruistic interactions of nurturing and protecting.

Once, when a pleasure-cruising yacht suddenly exploded in the Indian Ocean a sole surviving woman was thrown clear of the craft and left stranded in the middle of open water.  She desperately tread water expecting nothing but death. When she realized three dolphins were swimming toward her.  One of them swam beneath her and lifted her face out of the water, while the other two swam around her to protect her from sharks. They swam this way for hours until they arrived at a marker buoy, where they left her so that she could be seen by a passing ship, which she soon was. When they calculated the distance from the explosion to the buoy, they discovered that the dolphins had altruistically carried her, and kept her alive through 200 miles of dangerous waters.
